Blanchardstown Care and Repair Service

 

 

Minister Joan Burton TD launches the new Blanchardstown Care and Repair Service at Phibblestown Community Centre.

 

The Blanchardstown and Repair Service is aimed at elderly residents in the Dublin 15, area who need small repair jobs in their homes. The service will provide trained personnel who will undertake the following jobs

· Minor gardening (e.g. mowing lawns)
· Minor home decorating (e.g. interior painting)
· Installing handrails
· Tacking down carpets
· Changing plugs, fuses and light bulbs
· Installing security locks and chains
· Hanging curtains
· Installing domestic smoke alarms.

A “job” is normally expected to take no longer than an hour, although a number of small tasks may be undertaken during the same visit. The service is free of charge; the client only pays for the cost of materials used.
