Dublin West Priorities
Dublin West has been one of the fastest growing population centres in Europe for much of the last two decades.
With easy access to Dublin Airport, and with many of the world’s leading multinationals already in situ, it is a global economic hub and a prime destination for foreign direct investment.
The Phoenix Park is both a national treasure and a valued local amenity. The addition of the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre and the National Aquatic Centre in more recent times have greatly added to the community. With proper investment, James Connolly Memorial Hospital will develop into a world class medical facility, serving North & West Dublin, Kildare and Meath.
Joan Burton’s number one priority is to maintain Dublin West’s attractiveness as a place to live, work and invest. This includes:
- Proper planning.
- More buses, more trains, more often.
- A local school place in modern buildings for every child.
- A ‘Jobs Task Force’ for the Greater Blanchardstown Area – more needs to be done to promote the area as an attractive location for inward investment.
- Making Connolly Hospital a world class medical facility.
