BURTON CALLS ON HSE TO PROGRESS HEALTH CENTRE IN CORDUFF

That the issue of primary healthcare facilities remains one of the most pressing issues to be addressed in terms of health services in the Dublin 15 area” said Deputy Joan Burton.

For more than ten years now the Health Service Executive and it’s predecessor the Health Board have promised the development of a dedicated health centre in the Corduff area. There is a site adjacent to the Corduff shopping centre which has been earmarked for many years.

Deputy Burton said she had been pursuing the Minister of Health Mary Harney TD in relation to this and she has received a confirmation from the Health Service Executive as follows:

That the HSE are progressing a capital development programme to develop infrastructure to deliver services to the entire population of North West Dublin and this includes a possible site in the Corduff area.

Deputy Burton said she hopes that the HSE won’t continue to longfinger the issue of health service facilities for the area but will engage in discussion with public representatives and with the local community about addressing the urgent needs of Corduff in this respect.
