Dublin West receives another jobs boost today (Monday 23rd), as data company TelecityGroup announces the start of construction of a new state-of-the-art data centre in Northwest Business Park, Blanchardstown. Tánaiste and Dublin West Labour TD Joan Burton has welcomed the news as a further boost to the area’s reputation as a hub for world-class IT and technology companies.
TelecityGroup is hiring for ten new highly skilled engineering roles as part of the investment, which will see the centre host Internet Service Providers, which will provide US companies in particular with a European base for their online data.
Tánaiste Joan Burton said: “This is a very positive addition to the cluster of dynamic, high-tech companies based in Blanchardstown. I wish all at TelecityGroup the very best with this expansion.
“This additional investment is a boost for Dublin West as a hub for major IT and digital companies, coming on the back of a number of significant jobs announcements in the past few months. Along with an expanding IT Blanchardstown nearby, we are well placed to secure more good jobs for Dublin West.”
The new centre will open in the summer of 2015.
