Dunboyne College of Further Education

This week I questioned the Minister for Education about when Dunboyne College of Further Education can expect the construction of their new home to begin, and more generally, about the lack of provision for further education and the limited number of PLC courses available to those living in the Dunboyne and Dublin 15 areas.

You watch below my questioning of the Minister for Education about the lack of progress on the proposed new building for Dunboyne College of Further Education.

You can watch below me drawing the Minister for Education’s attention to the general lack of provision for further education in the Dunboyne and Dublin 15 areas and the limited number of PLC courses available in those areas.

In response to my question in writing to the Minister for Education about when contruction of a new building for Dunboyne College of Further Education, the Minister provided a rather short response, in which he said:

My Department has identified a requirement to secure a permanent site for the college to which the Deputy refers.

The college’s patron has been working to identify a suitable site for the college.  Until a suitable site is secured, my Department is not in a position to indicate when construction of a new building will commence.
