Community-based organisation provides free legal information and advice to people experiencing disadvantage
Today Joan announced that Community Law Mediation is to receive funding of €350,000 from the Department of Social Protection towards the development and promotion of information and welfare rights.
Community Law and Mediation, formerly Northside Community Law Centre, is a non-profit, independent, community-based organisation that works to empower individuals experiencing disadvantage by providing free legal information, free legal advice, education and mediation services.
Joan acknowledged the vital work of Community Law and Mediation, saying: “Community Law and Mediation plays a huge role in reducing and removing barriers to the law and in helping people access basic legal information and advice, regardless of their income and background. Its services are vital and that is why the Department is funding its work.”
