Kellystown / Porterstown Rezoning Proposal on Public Display

Details of the proposed rezoning of the Kellystown / Porterstown Area are now on public display. You can see a detailed map of the area here. In total, the relevant area consists of 59.5 hectares. Of this, it is proposed that 24.4 hectares of green built be rezoned for high density housing, 32.2 hectares of green belt is proposed to be rezoned as open space for recreational use. A further 2.8 hectares, currently zoned as open space, is to be rezoned for ‘suburban facilities’. Full details are available here as is the Strategic Environmental Assessment Screening Report.

Elements of the proposed rezoning include a graveyard, a public park, the re-location of St. Mochta’s FC, school sites and a transport interchange between the Maynooth train line and the proposed Metro West as well as significant amounts of high density housing.

Objections or representations on this proposal can be made in writing to Fingal County Council from Thursday 8th May to Thursday 5th June and will be taken into consideration by the Council before a decision is made on changing the Development Plan.
