I received queries from residents about the decision by the County Council to refuse planning permission for a mixed development of houses and apartments on the site between Riverwood and the Porterstown Road bridge over the train line.
The reasons for the refusal are as follows:
INSUFFICENT PARKING
The developer had been asked to provide additional parking in their plans in February. New plans were submitted in June and the County Council still considers the parking arrangements insufficient
ROADS & TRAFFIC
The turning areas for services vehicles (bins trucks etc) in the revised plans are still insufficient as far as the planners are concerned.
CHILDCARE PROVISION
The level of Childcare spaces and crèche provision was deemed insufficient and contrary to the rules of the Fingal County Plan
In August the developer has appealed the council’s decision to An Bord Pleanala. It will be the end of the year at the earliest by the time the Board adjudicated on the case. If you would like to view details of this go to pleanala.ie and the reference for the appeal is PL06F.247088
