Tomorrow is the last day to register for a postal vote

A Special Voters list is prepared every year as part of the Register of Electors process. Those eligible to apply for special voter status are:

– Persons living at home who are unable to go to a polling station to vote because of a physical illness or physical disability. Form PV1

– Persons whose occupations are likely to prevent them from voting at their local polling station on election day. Form PV2.

The latest date for receipt of applications is two days after the date of dissolution of the Dáil in the case of a general election.

As the Dáil has been dissolved today, Thursday is the last day to apply for the Postal Vote.

I would be encouraging people to check with families, friends and relatives who may be abroad due to work commitments, to acquire a PV2 form which requires their employer’s signature for completion.
